Green Gecko - Naultinus stellatusThe
Nelson Green Gecko is quite variable in colour and pattern. Most amateur herpetologists
separate them into three sub-species according to their local population area.
Maitai Valley, Nelson Lakes, and Sandy Bay. The
Nelson Green Gecko is active during
the day, and like many New Zealand geckos live in areas of scrub such as manuka
and kanuka and also open bush. They feed mainly on insects and moths. Two young
are born (occasionally three), in autumn or early winter. |
